This is Rebecca, a Colorado Springs resident, who hit the jackpot on Friday. Again!
Yes. Luck returned to Rebecca on Friday after a decade. This 60-year-old woman who works at Progressive Insurance scooped the Cripple Creek’s Wildwood Casino’s jackpot. Luckily, it became the largest jackpot in the casino’s history. She won a whopping $805,329.80.
Rebecca who loves travelling and spending time with her grandchildren visited the Cripple Creek casino with her father to celebrate his birthday. She had been playing cards but wasn’t having much luck. This is when she decided to move to a slot machine and invested $26 into a Wheel of Fortune progressive slot machine. And, what happened next is all in the newspapers and television. She beat out the previous jackpot record for the casino from 2011 of $678,198. Even the Wildwood’s director of gaming, Mike Chaput has never seen a jackpot of this size. He said, “I’ve been in the gaming industry in this town for 26 years and have never seen a jackpot of this size.”
“Not a bad return on my money,” Rebecca said laughing after hitting the largest jackpot in casino’s history. Well, surely it isn’t a bad return. The lucky granny now hopes that the windfall will help her retire early from the job and finish paying off her house.
Ironically, in 2007, Rebecca scooped $1 million Powerball jackpot. She bought her Powerball winning ticket in December 2007 at a liquor store in the Black Forest area. After scooping $1 million, Rebecca finished her basement work and invested rest of the windfall. She says she continues purchasing Powerball ticket. She is also planning to soon return to Wildwood along with her family.
P.S. – “I’m absolutely blessed,” Rebecca said. “I’m a pretty lucky person, and I’m blessed.” Well, yes you are lucky!
