Sports has always been a great equaliser because it doesn’t matter from which ethnic background you belong to or what is the colour of your skin, if you can prove yourself, you will become a star. As these women did, it’s a widespread notion that women are not good at sports, but there are thousands and thousands of female athletes who prove this idea wrong. All athletes make their respective games beautiful, but there are some who just not only make the game attractive but also steals our hearts. If you too get turned on after being defeated by a woman in a game then here’s the list of athletes that deserves a standing ovation of your heart.

Allison Stokke

This pole vaulter will undoubtedly take a vault into your heart every time you see her on screen. Allison Rebecca Stokke, got famous when she was seventeen and competing in New York, a couple of months later when a popular sports website with a large male fanbase posted the same photo her life changed, and so did ours. At first, Allison wanted to control the hype but instead, she hired a manager to follow up on her over flooding photo shoots requests and interviews. She is one of the most famous collegiate pole vaulters in the history of the sports, and she even qualified for the 2005 World Youth Championship. If there’s anyone who can steal your heart, then she has to be this Pole Vaulter.

 

Danica Patrick

American Auto Racing Driver and model Danica Sue Patrick is the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel racing. She is the first woman to win the 2008 Indy Japan 300 in an IndyCar Series race, and she also holds the third position in Indianapolis 500 in the year 2009, which remains still the highest finish ever by a woman. In 2013 she became the first female NASCAR driver to win a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole. She even holds the IRL record for most consecutive races running at the finish. Like the saying goes, that the way to a man’s heart is not by romance but by hot-wiring fast cars.

 

Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Caroline Vonn is an American ski racer, and she is the second woman to win four overall World Cup championships, with three consecutive titles in 2008, 2009, and 2010 and also in 2012. Vonn is also the first ever in the event for an American Woman to win the gold medal in downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics. With her Olympic gold and bronze medals, two World Championship gold medals in 2009 plus three silver medals in 2007 and 2011, and four overall World Cup titles, Vonn is the most successful American skier in history. If you ever dream of that thrilling scene from the James Bond movie, ‘The world is not enough,’ when James and Elektra King goes skiing, then this is the woman for you.

 

Alex Morgan

Alexandra Patricia Morgan Carrasco is an American football player who won Olympic gold medalist and also the Fifa Women’s World Cup. She is currently playing in the forward line for Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States women’s national soccer team. At age 22, she was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which earned her the nickname of Baby Horse from her teammates. In 2012, Morgan was also the recipient of the prestigious US Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and FIFA World Player of the Year so if you are a defender get ready to be nutmeg. And, she is already married so there goes the dream of giving her a through ball in the game of life.

 

Amber Jo Hill

The 20 years old sports shooter Amber Jo Hill has already won three gold medals to add to her wall of fame. She specialises in Skeet and the year 2013; she made her history by becoming the sport’s youngest ever winner at the age of 15, at the ISSF World Cup series. She was also BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2013. In 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janerio, she failed to be in the top three, but she aims to undo that in 2020 Olympics. If awesome is ever personified, then it would be Amber Hill.

 

Anastasia Ashley

Anastasia Ashley is an American professional surfer and model. At the age of 16, she won her first major national title the Triple Crown Rookie of the Year award in 2003. Ashley has been surfing since she was five. Ashley has also won the 2010 Pipeline Women’s Pro in Hawaii, and she appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 2014. She won several awards in her careers like the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s women’s championship and the Pro Surf Tour of America’s women’s tour championship.

 

Alana Blanchard

Alana Rene Blanchard is an American professional surfer and bikini model who also runs her show called, ‘Surfer Girl’, which follows her life in Kauai as a professional surfer and model. On her list of accolades, she has the Women’s Pipeline Championships in Hawaii, the Rip Curl Girls Festival Junior Pro in Spain, the Roxy Pro Trials in Haleiwa in Hawaii, etc. She also designs Rip Curl swimwear.

 

Maria Sharapova

If we are talking about dead gorgeous female athletes then without this female athlete it would always be incomplete. The woman who’s one smile can make you steal your heart, and with her tall legs, she is female athlete crush of this entire generation. She is Maria Sharapova, who hails from Russia. She is currently ranked No. 8 in the world by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Sharapova has bagged 29 WTA singles titles, including four Grand Slam singles titles. She remained World No. 1 in singles on five separate occasions, for a total of 21 weeks until she was suspended from the game for two years. The Russian is famous all over the world and is actively involved in many brand endorsement deals, and even has her line of candy called ‘Sugarpova’.

 

Sophie Horn

British golfer Sophie Horn made fans see golf during the Rio Olympics in 2016. She is not only a golfer but also an advisor to new golfers trying to take on the beautiful world of golfing. Growing up on a golf course helped her having a successful amateur career in the UK, where she won the Norfolk County Championships for three consecutive years. She won the Under-21 title when she was just 15 years old and also won the Midlands Championship. Sophie has featured in some magazines and websites all over the world, including Golf Punk, Sports Magazine, Maxim and Loaded and most notably featured in Sports Illustrated.

 

Anais Zanotti

Anais Zanotti may not be an athlete in the traditional sense, but she cannot be excluded from the list of beautiful athletes of this generation. She is a stuntwoman and professional skydiver. She has completed over 1000 jumps and had one of the best bodies. She is also a model. When you see here, you will know exactly why. Anais is on this list of gorgeous female athletes.
