Hey, punters! Here’s good news for you all.
The MegaMillions jackpot has raised its kick off jackpot amount. The Mega Millions jackpot will now kick off from $40 million rather than $15 million. As the MegaMillions lottery games are set to offer longer spells to all the lottery players out there, the tickets will be available at the same price; i.e. $2, same as the Powerball tickets.
The Lottery officials have also introduced a few more changes. Here’s a list including all five changes introduced by the Virginia Lottery-
- A new ticket price
- New odds
- Larger secondary prizes
- Higher starting point for the jackpots
- An innovative “Just the Jackpot” wager
Moreover, the odds of winning the MegaMillions jackpot increases but the chance of scooping the second prize gets shorter. The odds of hitting the top prize are 1 in 302 million while the odds of winning the $1 million prize are 1 in 12.6 million. The MegaMillions lottery players need to match five numbers along with the Mega Ball number to win the jackpot.
P.S. – The overall chance of winning any prize is 1 in 24 now.
