We feel you, little prince! We all have suffered it.
Prince George has been denied by his school to take a best friend or two because the whole school wants to be on his best friend’s list and he cannot get to say anything on the matter. It’s like they say, we cannot choose our friends because the society will do it for us, in Prince George’s case the school is doing so. It reminded me of the first Harry Potter movie when Harry got to the school the hat picked his house for him and here I thought that Hogwarts doesn’t exist. Anyway back to the story, the little Prince has been admitted to a £17,000 a year school that has a different approach to life altogether.
The South West London prep school, staff Thomas’s Battersea highly disapproves the idea of ‘best friends’, instead focusing on making sure every child is your friend so that no one feels excluded.
Jane Moore, a TV host, shared her knowledge about this weird ideology of the school. She said, “There’s a policy that if your child is having a party – unless every child is invited – you don’t give out the invites in class, which I think is quite a good thing as you don’t feel excluded.
There are signs everywhere saying ‘be kind’ – that’s the ethos of the school.
They don’t encourage you to have best friends.”
It seems that the little prince will not be bringing a new ‘bestie’ back to the palace anytime soon. Starting school is always a nerve-wracking experience for everyone, even when you’re royalty.
Most importantly of all, little George will never know how devastating it is of having been callously crossed off somebody’s party list.
