Rejection is a forever phenomenon. Right from the birth till the time of the death, you face rejection in some way or the other. Even life rejects you in front of death, the biggest rejection I guess. Well, we will not concentrate on it rather we will try to know about some Hollywood actors who faced rejection even after they were worldwide popular. Robert Downey Jr. or Tony Stark, you can call him and probably he won’t mind. Known for his improvisations in front of the camera, Robert Downey Jr was first roped in for one of the main roles in the movie Gravity. However, in the initial days of shooting it got cleared that the Robert Downey Jr. was not the right choice. Director Alfonso Cuaron said that although Robert is incredibly talented, but the technological aspects of the movie presented a big obstacle to his style of acting.
As a result the role went to George Clooney.
Ryan Gosling wasn’t fired but was asked to resign just one day before the shooting was scheduled to begin. Ryan was contacted to start the shoot of The Lovely Bones. Ryan started putting up weight on his own. He had a different idea of what the character should look like. On the other hand, director, Peter Jackson, had different idea of the character. As a result, Ryan had to step out of the film.
Megan Fox and the director Michael Bay got involved in a major row during the shooting of the film- Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Director demanded Fox to gain 7-9 pounds and get a suntan for the role. However, Megan compared Bay to Hitler and also called him the most horrible person to work with!” As a result Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was roped in to play Megan’s part.

Today, The Lords of Flatbush (1974) would be credited as the movie acting debut of Richard Gere. Then 25 years old Richard managed to quarrel half of the crew members and also involved in a fight with most of the actors just within the few days of the start of the movie shoot. He had also fisticuffs with Sylvester Stallone. After that, he was fired from the role. The role then went to Perry King.
Anne Hathaway was the first choice for the movie Knocked Up. However, the movie included a childbirth scene and Anne didn’t want to be involved. As a result there were a lot of fights and quarrel with directors and the role then went to Katherine Heigl.
A little-known Christian Bale was offered the title role for American Psycho. However, soon the movie attracted the attention of the famous Leonardo DiCaprio. Soon, Christian Bale along with the director, Mary Harron was promptly fired. However, DiCaprio later realized that his involvement in the movie would spoil the romantic image he had acquired after the Titanic. In the end, both Christian Bale and Mary Harron returned to the set.
