A Social Media post on Sunday said, “Tomorrow we’re uniting a divided nation with, you guessed it, burgers. Yes! Free burgers on Monday! The Gourmet Burger Kitchen is giving out free burgers.
The post further read, “Just bring your EU passport into any of our restaurants in the mainland UK on Monday Oct 16th, and if you’re in the first 50 people to do so? Voila – You get a completely free, on us, Brisket Burger. De-lish. Togetherness never tasted so good.”
Gourmet Burger kitchen has released a new Brisket Burger which is 6oz beef, salt beef brisket, burgernaise, Edam cheese, paprika onions, pickled cucumber, house relish and a pretzel bun. The makers say that the burger is made with the best of British and European ingredients working in harmony in one bun.
On being asked why they are giving away free burgers they said they have done this before also. They said: “We’ve done this before with Brazilians (in 2014 after they were clobbered 7-1 in the football World Cup) and New Zealanders (when they won the Rugby World Cup in 2015). It’s fun.”
