Yes, it has come to this only. People expressed their anger when McDonald’s announced that they are out of Szechuan Sauce and the police were to be called to handle the situation.
Imagine the frustration of the people, the Szechuan Sauce that has been out since 1998 finally made an appearance thanks to McDonald’s. People throughout the country got into queues to relive their childhood taste buds with the Szechuan Sauce when this McDonald’s outlet announced that they are running on limited stocks. Anger was still controlled by the masses because it was expected but they didn’t expect it to be too soon. When the stores ran out of it, people got mad and even started chanting ‘we want the sauce.’
To keep things under control, the Police were allegedly called to one of the outlets to keep some of the angrier customers back. After the incident, McDonald tweeted thanking everyone for supporting the ‘super limited’ release, and also apologised for not having enough for everyone. Several hashtags, including #giveusthesauce and #iwantmymcnuggetsauce, went viral, with people using social media to express their anger and how disappointing their experience has been.
Since the massacre happened, people who did get their hands on the sauce have posted it on eBay looking for a quick buck or two. Shockingly, there are some tiny packets being sold for a whopping $20,000 (£15,316) as well. People are also selling the promotional poster, which was also in limited supply, for upwards of $2,000 (£1,531).
Is sauce worth that much?
